thank you for your stillness, brother
for your patience
for your steadfastness
while i straighten out my thinking
thank you for not ripping it ("me") to shreds
for surely i would have retreated
and fortified its threads
so justified and necessary
for this cold world
thank you for the shining light
that glows through the veil
through the fog
even on the wettest days
thank you for the humbleness
that holds not one claw ready
to prick my story
just the completely quiet
silence
the open space
the stillness of the night
the brilliance of the stars
shooting
falling
crumbling away over and over and over again
showers of light
all the while
the veil is slowly unsewn
joy of stars
never disrupted for a moment
in the dance
of creation
leaps
and bounds
and tiny increments
always
in humble recognition
wholly without opposition
rising
and falling
always resting
resting
resting
in perfect stillness,
defenselessness
the veil
falls
the stillness calls
everything
to silence
