The Healing Power of Writing

Hi! Welcome to the Joy of Miracles.

To write is to uncover, to unhide, to bring to light, and express what is within. To share is the end of all private thoughts, all shame, all guilt, all pain and separation. Here is all Joy found at last! Writing helps us to repeat, focus, choose, and remember ideas. The purpose of this writing is healing for all of us.

This blog is inspired by "A Course in Miracles"and The Work of Byron Katie. You are invited to share your comments by clicking on the word "comment" at the end of each post. If you scroll way down there's a little info about me and also an archive of past writing you can view by clicking on the title. Thanks so much for visiting...

not one belief is true

silence IS golden

all pokers withdrawn

where's the pain?
without a sentence,
a judgment,
an e-value-ation

isn't it all at face value?
fully what it is?

no comparison
of it
to something other than
what it is

how faulty the idea of measurement--
to compare one thing against another...
it's not supposed to be like the other

it's supposed to be fully itself--
which it is

constantly its full potential

where did that crazy idea come from--
that one thing/person
should be like another?

how obviously insane
is that?!

how confused one must be
to believe he/she/it
should be like another?

"Forgiveness is my only function."
"There is a light in you that cannot be put out." (acim)

prior to the mind boggle,
the impossible premise,
ever since debating
all the descendents
of the impossible mother,

the endless forms
of non-problems
posed as insurmountable--
"let's get to the crux of this..."

there isn't one

how do you solve an impossible situation--
a fantasy,
with no reality?

you've got to really tangle your mind,
to continually tangle your mind
to keep it
from unraveling,
falling apart
on to the floor
in front of you

who can really believe
another person is truly heartless?

only a completely terrorized mind

see how he is ready to spring,
to pounce,
see how deep the despair,
how deep the pit
in which he hides his head?

oh be gentle,
so gentle,
this terrified "mortal"
is NOT your enemy

that tense spot in your shoulder,
that pain in your ass
is not here to hurt you,
to make your life hell

is the only appropriate response
to fear

so clear

let fear
only be met
with tenderness

this wild animal
means no harm

she is but asleep,
entangled in her own impossible premise,
that she is
what she is not

be gentle now...

that's such a scary dream
to inhabit

you can't keep it out

there's a laughter that creeps in
through the crack under the door

no one
can keep love out

(being that it is all there is)

locked inside the house of love,

where's the problem?

rest now
on that hardwood floor,
the one made from the lives of trees

receiving their life,
their strength,
their many years of snow and rain,
their many meals of soil,
their trillions of hours of sunlight

oh dear prisoner
in your own home,
worship but the floor
you walk on
and welcome home
the Love
beneath your every step!

About Me

My photo
I have been a student of A Course in Miracles since 1986. It has helped me tremendously to be a happier person by helping me change my perception of everything. I have found writing to be very helpful in the process of practicing, experiencing, and living the ideas in the Course. In 2006 I started sharing inspiration from the Course with a friend. Now it is a joy to share it with everyone. In 2009, The Work of Byron Katie found me at a woman's group. The Work is a way to identify and question your stressfuI beliefs. I dove right in and in April 2013 became a Certified Facilitator of The Work of Byron Katie. I work with people privately and offer online classes. Please visit for more information. I also still occasionally lead the 11am Sunday Gathering at the Rocky Mountain Miracles Center in Denver. For more information
