The Healing Power of Writing

Hi! Welcome to the Joy of Miracles.

To write is to uncover, to unhide, to bring to light, and express what is within. To share is the end of all private thoughts, all shame, all guilt, all pain and separation. Here is all Joy found at last! Writing helps us to repeat, focus, choose, and remember ideas. The purpose of this writing is healing for all of us.

This blog is inspired by "A Course in Miracles"and The Work of Byron Katie. You are invited to share your comments by clicking on the word "comment" at the end of each post. If you scroll way down there's a little info about me and also an archive of past writing you can view by clicking on the title. Thanks so much for visiting...

prop open the door

just keep the door open

and Heaven

is flowing

out
through
you

all the time

God will never cry for you

"the Holy Spirit will never
teach
that you
are sinful" (text p454)

God will never
cry
for you!

He maintains your shining face
for you

He maintains
that infinite Joy
can never
leave you

He maintains
your purity is impossible
to pollute--
for anything else
to enter it

He maintains your nature
is Godlike
and
forever
Godlike

He maintains your strength

He gives you everything
you are
and maintains
there is nothing in you
that is not of Him

He maintains
you are completely free!

God will never cry for you!

home

i carry my home
with me
across the desert sands

an umbrella for the sun
and storm

though wet
i will surely get
and sunburned
from time to time

i hold it all
within easy reach

the comfort
of my soul

below the hot sand
the water lays
cool
pure
and sweet

everything i need
underground
protected
from it all

stay with her

stay with her
(dedicated to all daughters
of God)

stay with her
as she glides across the floor

as she swirls and merges
the chocolate
and vanilla

the melted
and the frozen

stay with her

as she begins
to slowly
open her eyes

as the light
gently falls upon
her face

as dawn peeks
through
the curtain in her mind

stay with her

as she rises
from the ground

the steam wafting
away
in the morning light

stay with her
stay with your girl

as she matures
as she begins to step forward
out of time

as she leaves
all she has known
behind

stay with her
stay with her
stay with her
and
you'll be fine

where is my heart?

where is my heart this morning?

i've got to be home
with myself
sitting in my kitchen

i love my company
who is deeper than i?
all people are here with me
in the silence

there is
only
depth

patience questions
and answers
that knock on the door
before entering

sometimes children rush in
to interrupt
in their urgency

but mother sees this
and loves them
with all her heart

i love to be alone
in my kitchen
with all my children
around me

my pen puts them down
on paper
where i can greet them
properly
and share them
with
the world

stillness

here
in the pool
i sit

dissolving
all
dissonance

all miss matching thoughts
all out of placeness
all hypotheticals

lingering softly
the breeze fades

stillness
pervades
every cell

resting

in total ease
in total support

nothing to do
but
be

motion ended
the steam now rises softly
and goes out to all creation

moisture dripping
from the leaves

the rainforest
brings forth

the canopy
the shelter
the life
the joy
of
continuous play

rooted
in
perfect
stillness

de-housed

de-housed

i left my walls
today

oh how straight
up and down
they have given me

a view
of
flatness
and
facade
and
this side
and
that

how very kind
walls have been to me
while i needed them
there
to help me
feel safe

i didn't know
they didn't

i gave them
total trust
and faith

even
while they burned

i trusted plaster walls
with my life!
WOW!!!

if this
isn't illusion
and childish
and really
just plain blind
and goofy....

like an old sitcom
that repeats
the same
old
jokes

how very funny
that i would count on plaster...
for anything!

old boyfriends
old self concepts
old parents
and toys
and knick knacks...

ye shall know the truth
and the truth shall
set you free:

plaster melts
in the rain

plaster cracks
under pressure

plaster
is nothing more
than you make it

plastic
world
bends

open roof
open walls

opening

the angel
is everywhere

Here
in
the other
is He

About Me

My photo
I have been a student of A Course in Miracles since 1986. It has helped me tremendously to be a happier person by helping me change my perception of everything. I have found writing to be very helpful in the process of practicing, experiencing, and living the ideas in the Course. In 2006 I started sharing inspiration from the Course with a friend. Now it is a joy to share it with everyone. In 2009, The Work of Byron Katie found me at a woman's group. The Work is a way to identify and question your stressfuI beliefs. I dove right in and in April 2013 became a Certified Facilitator of The Work of Byron Katie. I work with people privately and offer online classes. Please visit www.joyofthework.com for more information. I also still occasionally lead the 11am Sunday Gathering at the Rocky Mountain Miracles Center in Denver.
