Is the Universe friendly?
The answer is no
only if I am trying to row
upstream.
Turn it around
and watch,
feel,
notice...
you are being carried
"row your boat
gently
down the stream"
merrily,
enjoy the game,
where the universe is taking you...
the view
the foreign lands,
th0se strAnge peoPle--
the "robbers"
who show me
the depth of my wellness
thank you (me)!
a simple blade of grass,
some are even eight feet high!
gone...
Only Presence
and not even...
The Healing Power of Writing
Hi! Welcome to the Joy of Miracles.
To write is to uncover, to unhide, to bring to light, and express what is within. To share is the end of all private thoughts, all shame, all guilt, all pain and separation. Here is all Joy found at last! Writing helps us to repeat, focus, choose, and remember ideas. The purpose of this writing is healing for all of us.
This blog is inspired by "A Course in Miracles"and The Work of Byron Katie. You are invited to share your comments by clicking on the word "comment" at the end of each post. If you scroll way down there's a little info about me and also an archive of past writing you can view by clicking on the title. Thanks so much for visiting...

No thing solid
No thing solid exists
until you construct it,
cons-true (con you it is true)
just notice the million
bits of nothingness
and broken off shards
that have to be collected,
called upon,
and held together
to make this "thing"
notice the holes
and cracks,
the missing parts
that have to be filled in
without a past,
without a future
where is your evidence?
without hearsay (someone said it...it must be true)
where is the danger?
what is
in danger?
Pow! You're "dead" now.
Perhaps you'll be surprised!
what are you without all that evidence
about you,
about any thing?
is that ALL the evidence
or just a smattering?
Oh Sweetheart,
is that a fair verdict?
Or was the search biased
from the very outset?
Things exist.

War
War,
people on their path to God,
me,
on my path to God,
trying to find my Way,
confusion of interpretation and fact.
Find a moment and look.
Blanket statements are just that.
They cover up
the facts,
the specifics,
reality.
They blind you
from reality.
Fighting for what they think is "right",
for their safety,
survival of body identity.
Each side waving
the same flag,
"I am a body."
And there is only I.
So it's up to me
to lay down my flag--
to be wrong
and say to the "other",
"you are not merely a body;
you are wise.
Speak your truth. Please.
If you would be so kind.
Enlighten me.
Thank you."

Arising to fall,
was it ever at all?
the glass house,
the broken window,
the pavement now a garden
bursting through the asphalt,
the tiniest bud of a new branch
emerging out of
the huge expanse of trunk
oh little, little one,
the marble rolling across the floor,
you know not where you go...
could it be a dent in the floor
arrests your travel?
or perhaps the tiniest pebble,
or an ant...
isn't it funny
we give ourselves titles,
positions,
and just watch
as the waves roll in
and out,
the rug is removed for cleaning...
and never returns
was it ever so,
was it was ever really so...?

Rest
How is it a good thing my foot hurt tonight
while out for a walk?
I sat down to rest
on a park bench about 10 minutes from my house
that I have never sat on before.
And while ready to sit there for awhile,
I noticed a path I've never taken (in eight years).
It opened to an amazing view.
It also gifted me with this amazing "stick".
What a joke that "label" is.
Within the city
the virgin
untouched prairie
remains.
Heart
unmoved.
How arrogant to think you can change nature,
subject it to a will
greater than Itself...
boasts the fly.
"I will bite you.
you are mine,
said the fly
to the limitless universe.
And it laughed and laughed and laughed.
What a treasure
this laughter is
right at the train track
with the whistles blowing,
and coal cars reaching out of sight.
What a joy
that She's always waiting
for you to simply stop.
The pristine,
unsoiled dove,
the moment you rest;
a park bench
you've walked by
every day for the last eight years (at least)
and never even noticed,
built for this moment.
The path you had no idea was there.
Glory.
Look at the happy travelers
already there!
Friendly
and welcoming!
It's not a new path at all.
The Space opens,
like the Red Sea,
without you.
Without you,
so much Space.

sinlessness
sinlessness
allows the wind
to catch my sail
and blow me in any direction
there is no catching
on jagged rocks
no dragging of anchor or feet
sinlessness is without friction
holding on to nothing
i am free to serve
free to be directed,
free to be moved
without a moment's hesitation
free to receive all guests

insight
ancient wisdom,
insight:
beauty is in the eye
of the beholder
friend/enemy
in the eye of the beholder
rich/poor
have/have not
danger/safety
gratitude/depravity
in the eye of the beholder
restitution/destitution,
prostitution
or labor of love,
all sight,
internal
insight
rocks my world
broken bones
or
broken beliefs,
broken dreams,
broken myths
the Eye of the beholder,
Everything
literally
what do you see?
what do you want to see?

About Me
- Joy Schultz
- I have been a student of A Course in Miracles since 1986. It has helped me tremendously to be a happier person by helping me change my perception of everything. I have found writing to be very helpful in the process of practicing, experiencing, and living the ideas in the Course. In 2006 I started sharing inspiration from the Course with a friend. Now it is a joy to share it with everyone. In 2009, The Work of Byron Katie found me at a woman's group. The Work is a way to identify and question your stressfuI beliefs. I dove right in and in April 2013 became a Certified Facilitator of The Work of Byron Katie. I work with people privately and offer online classes. Please visit www.joyofthework.com for more information. I also still occasionally lead the 11am Sunday Gathering at the Rocky Mountain Miracles Center in Denver.
