for the first time
a man's face
made 1000
different moves
in each moment
it was impossible to count
to see
it all
even just one eye...
i watched
entranced
i've never seen
this miracle before
though i thought i'd seen
1000 faces at least

100,000
who knows the number
i never saw at all
the continual
tiny miracles
an eye shifting ever so slightly
and everything around it
eyelashes
angles
shapes
lids
tilt of head and nose
and
smiles!
oh my gosh!
a smile
just exploding
all over the face!
we do
break
into a smile
oh yes
the whole being
breaks free
from all other thoughts
have you seen
the infinite movements
of a head
changing positions
completely done
for it
through it
no intention
of tilting the head
to this exact posture
in space
yet every moment
all day long
it happens
life!
always dancing!
eyes
always dancing
even in sleep
the mind
performs
the greatest show
on earth
how very very dear
is every face
watch
