loveliness has risen
her head over the pillow
halfway
this smile
the curling eyes
just rising up
of her own weightlessness
he has seen his loveliness
in another
the reflection on the pond
this morning
the brilliant shimmering
on the lake,
the puddle,
of the one
whose nose
is touching yours
no such thing as nosy,
it's all
God's business
smelling out a rat
is but your kissing
yourself now,
where once
you misunderstood
the thought
there was something
that should die,
be killed,
punished,
something that could hurt you
but this morning
the lake is shimmering
because last night
you stayed up late
and heard God
speak to you,
words,
right out
of
human lips
the illusion
over now
of God
and man.
