i lower myself
underneath
the crust
below
the surface
it gets easier to move
form is less solid
i am not the thing
i was at the surface
perhaps "on top of the world"
is as far as you can get from God,
from center
from the molten ongoing creation:
formlessness
opening to light
far beyond the world's light
perhaps "on top of the world"
is not where i want to be;
does not hold peace,
but fear of falling...
no,
instead
i would let go of the world
sink inward
and let
this
that is
closer than my body
save me
from what i thought
i was
I am not what I ought to be.
ReplyDeleteI am not what I want to be.
I am not what I hope to be.
But still, I am not what I used to be.
And by the grace of God. I am what I am.
